Big, full-bodied red wines are what this tasting is all about.
We will sample some of the New World's superstar varieties, where all that lovely sunshine powers some big, full-bodied wines from grapes such as Argentina's star - Malbec, Australia's signature variety - Shiraz, and if you've not had a proper Zinfandel (no, not the sweet, pink stuff) you've never lived!
Southern Europe also has powerful red wines from the Grenache dominated blends of the Rhône Valley, Mourvèdre powered, deep wines from Spain's Alicante region and then there are the appassimento (dried grapes) used in Amarone-style wines from Italy.
