Event Description

Hungary has a wine tradition stretching back to Roman times. Yet despite surviving centuries of political, religious and economic challenges the independent wine industry was all but suffocated under the Soviet System. Thankfully the end of the 20th century saw a reawakening of Hungary as a great wine producer.

Today this proud nation at the crossroads of Central Europe is a wine-producing country of considerable diversity; a rich selection of indigenous grape varieties and twenty two official wine regions, each of which have their own particular blend of culture, history, terroir and wine style.

We have put together an 8 bottle mixed case with independent specialists Border Wines, showcasing the superb red and white Wines of Hungary. The case offers great value at the exclusively discounted price of £139.00.

Join the course and I will email a link to purchase the wines.

Course starts Thursday 3rd February, 4 Weeks and all sessions are recorded if you miss a live session.

The case includes one of each:

Törley Vineyards, Grüner Veltliner, Talisman, Hungary - The super-star Austrian Grüner Veltliner grape grown just across the border in Hungary makes for a superior dry white

St. Andrea Egri Csillag Napbor, Eger, Hungary - Star of Eger, the white compliment to Bulls Blood, delightly perfumed and delicate

Balassa Tokaji Furmint, Tokaji, Hungary - Hand-picked grapes from four volcanic vineyards make this wonderful white, reflecting the complexity of the Tokaji terroir

St Tamás, Nyulászó, Tokaji, Hungary - Unique Hungarian white from the world famous Tokaji Region, rivalling great Loire Chenin and Chablis in style and quality

Bolyki Egri Kékfrankos, Eger, Hungary - A powerhouse of a wine from the delicious Blaufränkisch red grape

Sauska Kadarka, Villány, Hungary - Rare Hungarian Kadarka grape, full of red fruit aromas and a palate of spiced fruit, soft cherry and herbal qualities of earth and black tea

St. Andrea Egri Bikavér Superior Áldás, Eger, Hungary - Superior Bull's Blood from Eger, rich and complex. Decanter wine of the year 2020

Gábor Kiss Code, Cabernet Franc, Villányi, Hungary - Superior full-bodied Cabernet Franc, created from low yield vineyards, only 7000 bottles produced
