Event Description
It's a very well-kept secret that Brazil is the 15th largest wine-producer in the world, making 300m L of wine. This is slightly more than New Zealand, and yet Brazilian wine remains a rare sighting here in the UK.
However, most Brazilian wines are crafted from American or Hybrid varieties, which are better suited to the "challenging" growing conditions. Only about 10% of the vineyard is planted with European Vitis Vinifera varieties producing superior wines.
The varieties planted are all mostly very familiar names - Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and Viognier being the main whites with Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Tannat being the main reds.
We have worked with specialist Brazilian importer, Go Brazil, to put together a great introductory case to this country's wines.
Join us for 3 Wednesday evenings as we explore the wines of Brazil. All delivered via Zoom to the comfort of your own home.
