Event Description
Nestled between Brazil and Argentina, Uruguay’s vineyards are shaped by the cooling influence of the Atlantic Ocean, giving its wines freshness, balance and elegance. This carefully curated evening will showcase a multi-course menu inspired by traditional Uruguayan cuisine, each dish thoughtfully paired with wines that capture the country’s unique character.
At the heart of the experience is Uruguay’s signature grape, Tannat — producing deeply coloured, intensely flavoured reds with notes of dark berries, spice and cocoa, supported by refined tannins. Alongside these powerful yet polished reds, you’ll discover crisp coastal whites all reflecting the country’s maritime climate and boutique winemaking approach.
The menu will celebrate Uruguay’s rich culinary heritage — inspired by traditions of expertly grilled meats and smoky asado influences to fresh seafood and chimichurri-laced dishes — the team at The Last will bring out the natural synergy between the country’s food and wine culture.
Throughout the evening, we’ll explore the history, terroir and winemaking traditions that make Uruguay such an exciting emerging region, offering guests not just a meal, but a journey through one of the New World’s most intriguing wine destinations.
