Event Description
The Rhone Valley - The Rhône is a valley divided. The steep, windy slopes of the North nurture fragrant Viognier and spicy Syrah (AKA Shiraz). In the wider, warmer South, generous Grenache is king.
Exploring this region of two parts we will discover; the importance of blending, the only French appellation devoted to rosé and a Châteauneuf-du-Pape lookalike - same grapes, same soil, same climate, very different price.
Alpine France - The unique wines of Jura and Savoie reflect their isolated mountainous environment. Native grapes make unusual wines quite unlike anything found elsewhere in France.
Hosted by your expert wine tutor this two hour tasting will include: at least seven carefully selected wines, full wine notes and accompanying French nibbles.
Note, this evening is part of our four week Tour de France course - book all four evenings and save £20!
