Event Description
This online wine tasting compares the signature grapes of Burgundy, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with wines from the same grapes but grown in other parts of the world.
Burgundy is the benchmark for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir but is becoming ever more expensive. Is it time to look elsewhere for more affordable expressions of these noble grapes?
Over the course of three online tastings we will showcase six wines. Provisional line-up (to be confirmed subject to availability):
Jean-Marc Brocard, Vignobles Sainte Claire Chablis 2021 £16.00
Simpsons Gravel Castle Chardonnay, Kent 2021 £16.00
Domaine Nicolas Perrault, Maranges Premier Cru Clos des Loyères 2020 £28.00
Au Bon Climat Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2019 £26.00
Domaine Gonon, Mâcon La Roche Vineuse 2021 £14.50
The Society's Exhibition Margaret River Chardonnay 2022 £15.50
The case of 6 wines is being supplied by The Wine Society at a cost of £116.00. The final line up will be confirmed the week prior to the tasting. Any substitutes will, as far as possible, be of a similar style and price.
Join us on Thursday 4th May to explore the qualities of these famous grapes and discover your favourite.
