Event Description
Monika Gyenes is the owner of "Best of Hungary" a specialist importer of Hungarian wine and food. She will be the presenter in this unqiue afternoon tasting of 8 classic Hungarian wines (including Two Tokaji's), accompanied by some Hungarian cheese and charcuterie.
The line-up is as follows.
- Kreinbacher Brut Classic - a traditional method sparkling wine fom Sopron.
- Zelna BalatonBor Olaszrizling 2023 - a dry white wine from Lake Balaton
- Grof Degenfeld Tokaji Furmint 2022 - a classic dry Furmint from one of Tokay's top producers
- Steigler Organic Soproni Kekfrankos 2022 - Kekfrankos is Hungary's signature red grape, often blended, here as a single varietal from Sopron.
- Bolyki Egri Bikavér 2021 - the famous "Bull's Blood", or "Bikaver" in Hungarian makes its first appraeance, this time from its classic region of Eger.
- Lajver Szekszárdi Premium Bikavér 'Signum' 2021 - Bull's Blood is also made in the Southern region of Szekszárd and here you have a chance to compare the two side by side
- Tokajicum Tokaji Szamorodni 2022 - Hungary's famous dessert wine of Tokaji, this examples being a Szamorodni which is slightly lighter than the famous Aszu style
- Best of Hungary Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos 2020 - finally, a full 6 Puttonyos Tokaji Aszu. Arguably the finest dessert wine in the world, lusciously sweet and with pronounced flavours.
