Discover Wine Series: Posh vs Plonk

Returning for 2027 and part of our Discover Wine series… Welcome to Posh vs Plonk. This evening is perfect for those in the early stages of their wine education, however long-time Norfolk Local Wine School fans will be able to challenge themselves and see how refined their palate and nose really is.

This evening will start with a sparkling wine reception and we then move into the interactive part of the evening. Armed with blind tasting bags, we will give 5 pairs of wines from a variety of regions and wine producing nations. One of the pair can be described as ‘posh’ , bouji deliciousness, whereas the other is, rather unkindly termed, ‘plonk’. We will look at misconceptions like is wine with a cork better? Does the punt in the bottle signify a better quality of wine? And more importantly – are you a £12 bottle of wine gal or fancy £28.50 fella?

Even though the format might be different and a little louder than our usual events, we can guarantee an evening filled with laughter, wonderful wines and wine education.
