Grape Off – The Professionals – Newcastle v Yorkshire

In this special event two wine pros (in this case David of Newcastle Wine School and Laura of Yorkshire Wine School) will select a range of wines around a particular theme and price point. Each host will present their wines and their arguments in a bid to win your vote.

We are delighted to welcome Laura Kent as our first guest wine professional. Laura owns Yorkshire Wine School, loves cricket, proper beer and the wines of Northern Italy!

Round 1 Favourite Fizz with an RRP under £30.

Round 2 The Whites – Laura picks a grape variety, David picks a country for that grape variety and then Laura gets to pick a different country for that same grape variety. With each pro now armed with a wine from the same grape but from different countries, David and Laura will try and persuade you why their chosen country is the very best place to grow this grape. You taste the wines and vote for your favourite.

Round 3 The Reds - We repeat the steps above, but now with David picking the grape and Laura has first dibs on the country. And again you are the judges.

If David and Laura are tied on one round each, we'll go back to the votes for best fizz to decide the winner...
