Week 3 - Rioja Masterclass
Rioja has a long history of winemaking and is often the first name that comes to mind when considering Spanish wine. But the story of Rioja extends beyond its famous reds aged in oak.
Our final session will be an exclusive masterclass bringing you up to speed with the changes in Rioja. We'll explore lesser-known grape varietals in the region such as Maturana Tinta, Tempranillo Blanco, and Monastel. And we'll delve into the charm of the region's white and rosé wines.
Finally, we'll experience the differences that oak and bottle ageing impart, with a guided tasting of Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva wines. This segment shows how ageing elevates the Rioja wine's complexity and character.
