A fun wine tasting day (11am to 4pm) in an exclusive Cambridge University venue including Champagne and a delicious two-course lunch.
Our Saturday courses are informal, relaxed and suitable for anybody from beginners to enthusiasts. Beginning with Champagne, sample 13 wines from around the world learning what makes each wine different.
There's a choice of two venues - beautiful Madingley Hall (Queen Victoria sent Edward Prince of Wales to live there when he was studying at Cambridge) or a superior centrally located Cambridge college right next to King's (Gonville and Caius, where Professor Stephen Hawking was a fellow).
What you'll learn:
- Introduction to Wine Tasting (recognising elements such as tannin, acidity, body, oak)
- Major grape varieties
- The effect of climate on the flavours in your glass
- Understanding how winemaking affects the flavours
- Food and wine pairings
