• Vignamaggio Chianti Classico 'Mona Lisa' Gran Selezione 2016- From one of the oldest estates in the Classico zone, from the new 'top tier' classification representing the finest fruit selected from the producer's own vineyards. RRP £32.75
• Tenuta di Biscerno Insolgio del Cinghiale 2019- From the Antinori stable, this Syrah-led blend was inspired by Eugenio Cecconi's post-impressionist masterpiece of a wild boar shooting party in the area. The artist was a close friend of the Antinori family, and braised wild boar is the ideal match for this smoky Syrah! No longer available in UK RRP £29.95
• Carlo Franchetti Sancaba Pinot Nero 2017- working with his cousin and visionary winemaker Andrea, Carlo Franchetti tends some of the only Pinot Nero vines in Tuscany. Planted at 650m above sea level near to the town of San Casciano dei Bagni, Carlo is miles away from the Super Tuscan lands of Bolgheri and Maremma, this is a maverick's wine in more ways than one. No longer available in UK RRP £55
• Tenuta di Biscerno 'Il Pino' 2016- Baby brother of the legendary Biscerno Super Tuscan, this is also a blend of Bordealais grapes headed up by Cabernet Franc. Softer, more supple and with more upfront fruit compared to its older sibling, Il Pino is a silken textured mouthful of autumnal fruit. No longer available in the UK RRP £52
• Andrea Franchetti Tenuta di Trinoro Campo Magnacosta 2015- Another tiny plot of only 1.5 hectares Magnacosta is named after the meeting of the river and the hillside is alluvial plot on the site of the old river bed has more than a passing resemblance to Bordeaux's vineyards. Planted more than 20 years ago with cuttings taken from Pomerol this is a fresh style with high acidity and lifted aromas of menthol and eucalyptus. No longer available in the UK RRP £70
• Andrea Franchetti Tenuta di Trinoro Campo di Camagi 2015- Part of a trio of single plot Cabernet Franc overseen by Andrea at his famous estate. Camagi is a vineyard of less than 1.5 hectares with distinctive quartz and limestone soils which produce Cab Franc of huge intensity and concentration. Rich black fruits are enveloped by firm acid and tannic structure. Awesome expression of this grape! No longer available in the UK RRP £75
