Event Description
A great new addition to the YWS programme- come along and join two expert hosts for a Saturday afternoon introducing you to the basics of cheese and wine, whilst you get a chance to enjoy both!
Your afternoon will be split in to two 90 minute sessions, first up Stephen Fleming (founder of Chapel A’s award winning Cheesemonger, George and Joseph) will talk and taste you through the basics of how cheese is made, the different styles that are out there, how to taste cheese and describe the flavours, textures and aromas, and finally, what to pair with your cheese at home.
Next up you’ll enjoy 90 mins with YWS head honcho, Laura Kent. She’ll be explaining how wine is made, talk you through some key grape varieties and wine regions, take you through the basics of how to taste wine, and what to pair with your wine.
You’ll be tasting 6 cheese and 6 wines, separately, as part of the corresponding session. At the end you’ll have a chance to pair the wine and cheese together to taste the alchemy for yourself!
This is very much an intro session, designed to appeal to lovers of wine and cheese who would like to learn a little more and explore their own tastes.
The perfect gift for the foodie in your life who likes to learn about what they love!
For more seasoned sippers, or those who already know their curds from their whey, keep your eyes peeled because we plan on running some more advanced sessions, specialising in certain types of cheese and wine!
