France vs The New World Tasting Day with Lunch (Leeds)

There are no upcoming dates for this event. Please view all events.

Duration
5 hours

Event Description

Our France vs The New World Saturday is surely the most fun you can have whilst actually learning a great deal about the role of 'terroir', wine making, and grape variety? Each full day tasting includes a delicious 2-course lunch prepared specially for YWS by the Cross Keys. Their food focuses on simple cooking, locally sourced seasonal ingredients with weekly changing dishes to keep everything fresh, vibrant and tasty.

We'll set up 6 rounds of head to head tastings between France and the rest of the world. Who is champion with Chenin Blanc? Who has the superior Syrah? Why does everyone grow Chardonnay? And where to buy if you are picky about Pinot Noir. You'll learn about the classic regions of France; Rhone, Loire, Burgundy, Champagne, South West France will all be explored and explained. You'll also have a chance to compare the same grape variety grown in different parts of the world. Will it be French Champagne or English Sparkling Wine that floats your boat?

We are confident that we can teach you about France vs The New World in just 4 hours of tasting. So we'll end the day with a blind tasting round and see if you can pick out the French classic from the New World pretender.

You'll never choose wine in the same way again after this tasting!
