Event Description
For many people, Chianti Classico came onto their radar from "Silence of the Lambs" and Hannibal Lecter's meal planning.
However, this most Italian, and specifically Tuscan wine has a long history; the famous "black rooster" (Gallo Nero) trademark was first conceived in 1384 and the first use of the word "Chianti" to describe wines of the region dates back to 1398, with the boundaries of the Chianti Classico region being legally defined in 1716 (hence the use of that date in the trademark).
Come along and learn more of the fascinating history of this wine as we sample six great examples - all from Chianti Classico DOCG, along with some suitable Italian-themed nibbles from the Saint Vincent kitchen.
We were proud to have been selected as just one of six venues in the UK for this event, which is being promoted and sponsored by Consorzio Chianti Classico.
Because of this sponsorship we are able to offer an incredible value price of just £25 for this event.
We are very grateful to Consorzio Chianti Classico for this opportunity, which we are confident will be enthusiastically taken up by the wine-lovers of Shropshire!
