Event Description
Think you know Chardonnay? Think again!
Join us for a special Chardonnay Day Masterclass, celebrating one of the world's greatest and most versatile grape varieties.
Chardonnay is a grape that can produce an incredible range of styles – from crisp, fresh and mineral wines to rich, creamy and oak-aged examples, as well as elegant sparkling wines. So, if your experience of Chardonnay has mainly been the bottle you've picked up from the supermarket, there's a whole world of Chardonnay waiting to be discovered!
Over the course of this fascinating tasting, we'll explore six carefully selected wines, taking you on a journey from the cool vineyards of northern France to the great Chardonnay regions of Burgundy and beyond.
We'll begin with the elegance and finesse of a Blanc de Blancs Champagne, before exploring the distinctive character of a Premier Cru Chablis, the richness of Pouilly-Fuissé and the complexity of a Chardonnay from the Côte d'Or.
Then we'll travel further afield, discovering the character of a Californian Chardonnay before finishing with a superb example from Margaret River in Western Australia, a region renowned for producing beautifully balanced and complex Chardonnay.
Along the way, we'll explore how climate, terroir, oak and winemaking shape the wines in your glass, and discover why Chardonnay is capable of producing such a fascinating variety of styles.
And because great Chardonnay deserves great food, we'll also enjoy a selection of food pairings, including a range of delicious cheeses, chosen to complement the wines and enhance the tasting experience.
Six wines. Six expressions of Chardonnay. One fascinating masterclass.
Whether you're already a Chardonnay enthusiast or simply curious to discover what this versatile grape can really do, this special Chardonnay Day celebration promises an enjoyable, informative and delicious afternoon of wine discovery.
Join us on Friday 21 May 2027 and raise a glass to Chardonnay!
