Event Description
Explore the wines of Northern Spain as we pair a specially curated selection of six stunning wines with a 3-course meal inspired by the region's culinary traditions.
Our evening begins in Rioja, with a glass of a new addition to the Rioja family, a traditional method Sparkling Wine.
Then we'll head west to Galicia, where Albariño’s bright acidity and saline twist perfectly complement the seafood-rich dishes of the rugged, cool-climate coastal region known as 'Green Spain'.
Our journey will then take us inland into Castilla y Léon where complex geological formations provides a host of interesting terroirs, ranging from rocky high-altitude vineyards to arid plains planted with old bush vines. Here indigenous grapes like Mencia are carefully crafted into lighter, fresher style red wines.
We will also explore the food and wine culture of the Rioja region, famous for it's velvet-smooth oak-aged reds that pair perfectly with local pork and the sweet smoky flavour of Spanish Pimenton.
For dessert we'll pair a local specilality wine, a sweet Moscatel, with a typical Spanish dessert.
Guided by our expert, you’ll discover how different foods interact with acidity, tannin and flavour profiles, giving you the confidence to pair wine & food like a sommelier.
Expect vibrant flavours, contrasting wines and a deep dive into one of Europe’s most exciting food and wine cultures.
The menu for the evening will be sent to guests one week prior to the event.
