Flint Vineyard Lunch, Tour & Tasting (Coach from Norwich)

Norfolk Local Wine School have organised a coach to leave Castle Meadow at 12pm on Saturday 23rd May for Flint Vineyard - the much loved and exciting vineyard tucked away on the Norfolk/Suffolk border near Bungay.

The Coach will drop all guests back at Catle Meadow. The timings of the day are as follows:

11:45am - Guests Arrive and Board Coach at Castle Meadow, Norwich

12pm - Leave Castle Meadow, Norwich for Flint Vineyard

12:45pm - Arrive at Flint Vineyard

1pm - Lunch for guests (includes board and 3 small plates)

2pm - Tour of Vineyard

3:30pm - Wine Tasting Experience

4pm - Own time around restaurant & shop

4:30pm - Depart for Norwich

5:15pm - Arrival Back at Castle Meadow, Norwich

Lunch

Lunch will consist of a board and 3 small plates per person. Previous boards have included the following:

• Kalamate olives
• Truffle popcorn
• Crab and ginger spring rolls, house sriracha
• Smoked mackeral paté, pickled courgettes and toast
• Whole roasted partridge and quince jelly
• Smoked marinated anchovies, beetroot relish and creme fraiche
• Roasted Guinea fowl breast, celeriac truffle Dauphinoise
• Roasted squash, dates and hazelnuts
• Pecorino and rosemary fries
• Feta cheese cake, pomegranate, and ginger crumb
• Chocolate orange truffles

Tour

Flint Tours are your best bet for finding out more about life at Flint: What they do, why, and how it ends up tasting so good. Hosted by their experienced Cellar Door team or by winemakers Ben or Oli, it’ll change how you think about what’s in your glass - for good.

We'll head into the vineyard and explain why they think think that planting 10 hectares of vines in Norfolk was a brilliant idea. Then it’s into the the winery to explore the blend of art, science and possibility, which makes up our approach to winemaking.

Then they’ll guide you through four of our most popular wines - overlooking the vines if the weather is playing nice, otherwise it’s all inside into the cosy cellar door barn.

Tasting

Enjoy a guided and personal wine tasting with one of our knowledgeable team through a selection of our wines. They will help unravel some of the mysteries of the wine-making process in a friendly and relaxed way and do all they can to allow you to appreciate the wines.
