Welcome to our newest collaboration!
We are delighted to be partnering with the fabulous Ottoman Kitchen of Southampton, THE WINNER OF BEST MIDDLE EASTERN RESTAURANT IN THE UK 2023!
We are offering you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dine in style and learn about authentic Turkish cuisine and Turkish wine pairing.
Cecile Bergart, Sommelier, Owner and Wine Tutor at the Hampshire Wine School has chosen 5 delicious tasting-size courses from the Ottoman Kitchen's amazing menu and has paired every single one of them with a vibrant Turkish wine.
As the saying goes, "what grows together, goes together", so we shall learn how to match wine and food to perfection, whilst dining in a superb restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere.
This is going to be a super fun and interactive evening out!
Here is the NEW tasting menu for the night:
- spinach and feta parcels (sigara boregi) - long thin crispy pastry parcels filled with feta cheese and spinach
- stuffed vine leaves (yaprak sarma) - stuffed vine leaves sauteed with rice, onion, mint, dill, parsley, pine nuts and blackcurrant
- tavuk sarma - a classic Turkish dish, succulent chicken breast with fresh asparagus, diced carrot and melted halloumi cheese, grilled until golden
- patlican lamb kebab - a celebration of Anatolian flavours, chragrilled aubergine filled with layers of lamb meatballs, sweet bell peppers and vine-ripened tomatoes
- daily-prepared authentic baklavas - layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with honey
Each paired with a carefully selected wine, produced from the grapes grown in Eastern Anatolia.
