Join us for our first ever focus on the wines of Chianti Classico, made possible thanks to the generosity of the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico.
Italian wine nerd Carrie will lead the tasting and you will discover:
- The history and heritage of Chianti Classico
- The significance of the Black Rooster (Gallo Nero) emblem
- The terroir influences, winemaking traditions, and stylistic differences across the region, including the emergence of UGAs
- The personality and importance of the Sangiovese grape (which makes up 80-100% of all Chianti Classico)
- The other grapes of the region – some of them local talent, some of them from neighbouring France
