Course Description
The first 4 weeks of our popular World of Wine course make a great stand-alone introduction to wine. Through tasting 25 wines (with retail prices around £8-£30) from across the continent you'll learn how European wine making spread across the world and continues to influence global wine production.
We'll look at the grape varieites that are most important in each country (such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon in France, Sangiovese in Italy and Tempranillo in Spain) and the regions where they originated and remain most at home. We'll take in history, culture and food, and will look at some of the traditional wine making methods unique to each region.
In a relaxed and informal environment you'll have plenty of opportunity to ask everything you ever wanted to know about wine. We'll soon have you tasting like a pro, and ready to tell family and friends the difference between Beaujolais and Barolo!
We'll tell you where to buy all the wines tasted, and recommend food pairings for each. We'll even help you interpret the most complicated wine labels (and tell you how to remember if it's Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc in your Chablis!)
