Discover how winemakers in Istria are focusing on the production of fresh and aromatic white wines with intriguing herbal notes, even when working with ancient grape varieties like Malvasia.

Over in Bulgaria, the country's wine industry has recently been helped by investment from French and Italian winemakers seeing huge potential. St Emilion stalwart Stephan von Neipperg bought a winery in Bessa Valley and added his expertise in blending grape varieties to make a critically acclaimed red blend he names Enira.

And in North Macedonia, a natural paradise of vineyards, mountains, lakes and rivers has developed a distinctive wine culture dominated by red wines using indigenous grape varieties Smederevka, Vranec and Kratoshija (Primitivo).    

HOW IT WORKS

You buy the wines separately and need only consume a tasting sample of each wine during the tutorial. You can follow our preservation tips to keep any leftovers for another day.
