Rosé wine is a perfect summer tipple.
On a hot day when you know when you are avoiding a tannic, full red wine you may find yourself hankering after something else other than a glass of white - so why not look to rosé?
Warm and hot wine regions understand this perfectly. And many, like Provence in Southern France, are a strong source of rosé wines for that very reason.
Yet some think rosé wine has no serious potential due to the many cheap examples lining our supermarket shelves.
Join us for a tasting that sets the rosé record straight and introduces you to top-class examples. This might be the tasting that opens your eyes and gives you new options for warmer weather.
We'll taste 3 rosé wines made from different grapes and countries. A Merlot rosé from South Africa, a deliciously different blend of Sangiovese, Barbera, Groppello and Marzemino rosé from Italy and a surprising and savoury Cru Classé rosé from Provence made using Tibouren and Grenache (aged briefly under a film of yeast).
