We are meeting Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Andrea, an American, and Chris, a South African, met in France in 2004, got married and started Mullineux Family Wine.
Since then they've been at the forefront of the Swartland Revolution making some of the Cape's most impressive bottlings from this stunning landscape. Their approach is to work as naturally as possible using natural yeasts, avoiding fining and filtering and only adding minimal sulphur before bottling. In this way, their wines express as much as possible the place where they were made.
We'll taste their delicious Kloof Street Chenin Blanc and a fabulous red blend showcasing what can be done in Swartland with classic warm-climate varieties and a top-level Syrah that has garnered numerous critical accolades including 'Red Wine of the Year' for a previous vintage.
