Event Description
An indulgent evening for anyone who loves good wine, fine chocolate and the thrill of discovery.
Wine and chocolate may seem an unlikely pair, yet when you know a few simple principles you can combine them with great results. Join us for an indulgent workshop tasting to delight your tastebuds.
In this relaxed, hands-on tasting we’ll explore how different styles of wine complement different chocolate, from light and creamy to dark and intense. Expect a few playful surprises along the way, including what happens when you pair a dessert wine with a Cadbury Creme Egg!
You’ll taste 7 wines, each matched with a carefully chosen chocolate. As we learn about each wine we'll discover why that specific pairing works, and we'll vote to find the combinations that make our senses light up most.
Possible pairings include:
- Dessert Semillon with a Cadbury Creme Egg
- Pedro Ximénez with Chocolate Brownie
- Recioto Valpolicella with Montezuma Black Forest Cherry Dark
- Australian Tawny with Thomas Fudge's Milk Chocolate Florentines
- Rosé Prosecco with Lindt Dark Raspberry Intense
- Muscat Beaumes de Venise with Terry's Chocolate Orange
- Sparkling Shiraz with Waitrose No.1 Dark Chocolate
A deliciously informal evening of tasting, talking and uncovering flavour connections for anyone curious to understand how certain wines go well with chocolate.
Please note: this tasting includes nuts and dairy and isn’t suitable for anyone with nut allergies.
