4 Week Course - Discover Italy

Italy! Land of pasta, pizza and Prosecco! But, my word, there is so much more to the gastronomic and vinous pleasures of this land. Come and join us as we journey around Italy, discovering a plethora of incredible grape varieties and wines as we go. 

From North to South and from East to West, the diversity of Italian wine is incredible. Many many native grapes, unheard of elsewhere, many ancient styles of winemaking, preserved and still embraced today. Our 4 week course will blend the familiar with the new, the classics with some surprises, and most importantly it will leave a lasting impression of the fabulous sights, smells and tastes of Italy's majestic vineyards. 

Each week will be a reflection of what is exciting us at Wine School Towers, but here's an idea of how the course should pan out...

wk 1- The North West: Piemonte with all its glorious Nebbiolo will be here, perhaps a sweetie made from Mosacto might make its way into the line up? There'll definitely be some fizz, we are in Lombardia and the land of Francciacorta of course!

wk 2- The North East: what diversity the Veneto offers us! Superb Soave, amazing Amarone, perfect Prosecco, we'll find it all! But let's not forget the mountain regions! Alto Adige and Friuli Venenzia Guilia will feature here, these wines are unique and spectacular. 

wk 3- The Central Region: the favourites here are well known, a spot of Sangiovese and Montepulciano should be on the cards! But we should kick the evening off in style with some superb Lambrusco and a hunk of Parmesan cheese... nothing else quite captures Emilia Romagna!

wk 4- The South and the Islands:  The South and the Islands: hurrah! Our chance to explore the breath taking terrain of volcanic soils of Etna, Vesuvius and Sardinia. This week will be a parade of big, bold and brash wines, but prepare to be surprised as we unveil the more elegant expressions which are increasingly finding their voice here. So much to enjoy!

We are already rubbing our hands together in anticipation and delight at the thought of this wine list! It's going to be a tasty and thought provoking 4 weeks, we can't wait to see you there.
