Event Description
Join us for a very special online tasting with the brilliant Johannes Müller of Weingut Matthias Müller Estate, co-hosted by Jimmy Smith — a relaxed, insightful, and thoroughly enjoyable deep dive into one of Germany’s most thrilling (and still under-the-radar) wine regions: the Mittelrhein.
It’s not every day you get to taste these wines with the winemaker himself — from the comfort of your own sofa. Johannes will guide you through his wines, sharing stories from the vineyards, insights into the Mittelrhein’s unique terroir, and the philosophy behind his family’s approach.
Weingut Matthias Müller
Weingut Matthias Müller is a true family affair, rooted in the dramatic slopes of the Mittelrhein since the early 1970s. If you’ve never explored this region before, picture steep vineyards perched high above the Rhine on slate slopes — stunning to look at, and even better in your glass.
This is Riesling that’s vibrant, focused, and full of life. The slate soils bring a खू crisp mineral edge, while the steep vineyards mean all grapes are picked by hand — care and attention that carries on throughout the winemaking process. These are wines that serious Riesling lovers get very excited about… and once you’ve tried them, it’s easy to see why.
If you love Riesling, this tasting is a must. If you think you don’t love Riesling… this might just change your mind. Either way, it’s a rare chance to discover a remarkable estate, meet the winemaker, and experience the magic of the Mittelrhein without leaving home.

Anyone registered for this tasting will gain access to the video recording of the live event, so you can always revisit any of these at any time in the future - whether it's because you missed participating in the live evening or if you want to revisit the presentation at a later date.

For this special online tasting, an exclusive tasting kit is included in the listed price which includes a 50ml tasting sample of each wine. Note: Tasting kits will be dispatched in the week leading up to the tasting. If orders are placed fewer than 5 working days before the event the kit may not arrive in time for the live class but the wines can be enjoyed with the event recording.
Tasting kit delivery can be made to anywhere within the UK only. At present we are unable to fulfil international orders.
