Event Description
Albariño has become a very fashionable grape variety in recent years. Almost all of its grown in the far North-West of Spain, in the region of Galicia. Statistically, there has been an 800% increase in production of this wine in just 35 years with the UK one of the main export markets.
Galicia is (by Spanish standards) quite a cool region and it’s also very wet. The Albariño grape variety is well suited to this environment, producing wines with a great depth of citrus and stone fruit flavour alongside refreshing acidity. The local seafood makes a great pairing for this wine.
Join us for an evening sampling six different Albariño wines from Rias Baixas DO whom we are indebted to for sponsoring this Masterclass event.
The wines will be accompanied by some authentic Spanish style “small plates”.
