Event Description
On this evening tasting we will compare the unique wine styles of two of France's famous winemaking valleys as well as explore the sunny South of France and taste a range of at least delicious six red and white wines.
Part 1 - The Loire Valley
Famous for it's stunning river valley landscape, magnificent Châteaux and superb wines, you will wind your way from Muscadet on the coast through the vineyards of Anjou, Saumur & Touraine to the famous wine villages of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. Along the way we'll reveal the versatility of the Chenin Blanc grape - the Loire's best kept secret.
Part 2 – The Rhône Valley
This is a tasting of 2 halves. The steep slopes of the Northern Rhône are home to the seductive Syrah whereas in the Southern Rhône it's warmer, wider and flatter and Grenache and other grapes are in the mix creating wine styles range from the light and fruity Côtes du Rhône to the mighty Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Part 3 – The South of France
The South of France has a wonderful Mediterranean climate; perfect for growing ripe grapes loaded with flavour. We will explore one of the quality appellations but it is the range and affordability of wines from the South that we’re sure will surprise and delight you!
