Event Description
The Malbec grape has charmed a generation of wine drinkers with its rich and fruity, full-bodied, yet approachable style.
Malbec has a rich history. Its origins can be traced back to the Cahors region in South-West France where it produces 'The Black Wine' a deep, inky brooding wine that shows a different side of this great grape.
However, for many wine drinkers Malbec is synonymous with Mendoza in Argentina which has adopted it as its flagship grape. We'll explain how a combination of Argentina's climate, soils and winemaking skills show the softer side of Malbec.
You might be surprised that you can enjoy white, pink and bubbly Malbec too; through a carefully selected range of wines from Argentina and around the world we'll show you just how versatile Malbec can be.
We'll also show a stunning Malbec-based wine that's the result of a collaboration between leading Argentinian family wine dynasty, Catena and Lafite-Rothschild in France that highights the more serious side of Malbec.
We'll also show a couple of the wines with some perfectly paired nibbles and explain how you create amazing food and wine combinations with Malbec.
If you love Malbec, you don't want to miss this tasting!
