The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education, providing globally recognised qualifications suitable for both wine industry professionals and wine enthusiasts. The Edinburgh Local Wine School is one of the WSET’s approved programme providers and we deliver all of their suite of courses, up to the Level 3 qualification.
Wine Scholar Guild programmes are the industry standard and provide the most accurate and in-depth information on the wines of France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Wine Scholar Guild wine certification programs supplement and complement the study programs offered by WSET and CMS rather than replace them.
A core part of their educational philosophy is providing our students with ALL the study materials they need to succeed. Their innovative and multi-faceted approach inspires our students. The wine study manuals are current, concise, and objective, without being encyclopedic.

All of our in person classes are limited to 16 students. We believe that this number allows for the best student experience. Our online courses are run by qualified tutors from across our Local Wine School network. They are interactive and recorded in case you miss a session an need to catch up.
