Event Description
Kym Teusner is relatively new to Barossa winemaking (founding his eponymous winery around 20 years ago), but he has already built a stellar reputation for his work and has steadily acquired some precious parcels of old vines which were in danger of being grubbed up.
This is an afternoon to indulge in some of his finest wines, we’ll kick off the session with his Sparkling Shiraz, an award winner which turned a few heads at our recent Shiraz Masterclass. As well as diving into several vintages of some of his delicious reds, including Joshua GSM (2015, 2020, 2021), the Riebke (an incredible Ebeneezer plot he saved and which became his first purchase), and a 2012 bottling of Avatar GSM. But, to cap the whole tasting we are thrilled to be able to share with you a comparison of Teusner’s finest wines (in our humble opinion!): their Mataro (aka Mourvèdre)! Get ready to taste their ‘Dog Strangler’ and their ‘Righteous’ side by side.
Lovers of big Barossa Reds form an orderly queue!
