Event Description
Join Laura for a look some of the magical wines and vines she discovered on her recent course becoming a Wine Educator of Jumilla. She'll share stories of incredible winemakers and their old vine Monastrell, and a taste of other wines of the region.
Jumilla is certainly off the beaten track! Sandwiched between the sprawl of La Mancha and the coastal hubs of Alicante, Valencia and Cartagena, it's a region which is quietly kicking off a wine revolution. Spectacular old vines, many ungrafted, on their own roots, dot the landscape. There's not much here apart from olives, almonds, vines and rocks! Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Sistema Bético mountains you can discover vineyards which have survived untouched for decades.
The focus of the evening will obvioiusly be a deep dive in to the world of Monastrell in Jumilla, the likely birthplace of this historically important grape. But we will have room to look at other grapes found here, espcially some of the delicous whites which are often overlooked.
Grab a seat quick for a chance to experience a Masterclass in Monastrell and Jumilla!
