Part One: Champagne & Sparkling Wines
Here we shall look at the various types of sparkling wine produced from two major methods (the traditional and tank methods) and match them with simple food. Of course we’ll taste Champagne. In addition we find very decent and affordable fizz in the new world which is extremely worth factoring in as a comparison. Tank method sparklers such as the ever-popular Prosecco - is worth investigating.
Part Two: Sweet Wines
Dessert wines are created from a myriad of various methods ultimately producing a complex range of styles. We’ll learn about the classic noble-rot style with plenty of examples to select from such as Sauternes, Chaume and the Hungarian regal classic, Tokaji. In addition we'll taste the full-bodied Port style and to cap it all off the ultra-sweet Sherry, Pedro-Ximenez.
