Event Description
Join us and Daniele Pelassa to learn about a family legacy rooted in Barolo and Roero. Together we’ll taste through iconic Barolos and Barberas we well as their speciality, incredibly elegant whites from the indigenous Arneis grape.
Nestled in the rolling hills of Montà d'Alba in the Roero and in the prestigious Barolo zone, Pelassa Winery is a family-run estate cultivating 18 hectares of prime vineyard land. With a deep commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation, the Pelassa family has earned a place on wine lists across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
The roots of the Pelassa estate go back to 1960, when Mario Pelassa began producing wine from the family's vineyards with the support of his wife, Maria Teresa Viglione. For decades, their wines were known mainly in northwest Italy. Today, their sons Davide and Daniele have taken the reins, bringing modernity and dynamism to the winery while honouring its heritage.
At Pelassa, meticulous vineyard management and thoughtful clonal selection are key to expressing the unique character of their terroir. All grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation is carefully temperature-controlled to preserve purity of flavour.
Pelassa’s vineyards are ideally suited to the classic grape varieties of the region:
- Arneis – the white gem of Roero, known for its floral notes and finesse
- Nebbiolo – the noble grape of Barolo, offering structure, elegance, and ageing potential
- Barbera – vibrant and juicy, with trademark freshness and spice
