Who hasn't heard of Port and Stilton as a combination, but why are they considered a match made in heaven?
Well now is your chance to find out why this works, plus what a way to spend a dark cold winters evening , so make sure to bring some of your friends along !
We all know that there are many different types of cheese but did you know that there a several different types of Port, from red to tawny and even white!
You will taste your way through 6 luscious Ports, while trying 6 different cheeses from the light and crumbly cheeses to the rich and salty blue cheeses.
There will be tried-and-tested pairings and some more unusual, eye-opening ones that will enhance the rich fruity flavours of the Ports.
Among the ports you will try are:
- Chilled White Port - never tried it? It's delicious, especially with tonic.
- Tawny Port - A good, aged tawny is like Christmas in a bottle.
- Late Bottled Vintage (LBV)
- Ruby Port - packed full of jammy fruit.
- Crusted Port - with all the fun of learning how to decant.
- There will even be a Vintage Port for you to try ;-)
This will be a relaxed and eye-opening evening, during which you will learn how Port is made and be surprised by the different styles.
