Event Description
We'll be taking a vinous trip from Lyon and head south and eventually west until we hit the Spanish border.
Part One:
The Rhone Valley. The Rhone is home to two of the world's great grape varieties; Syrah and Grenache. The north, famous for it's peppery reds from Syrah as well as Viognier. The south, infamous for Chateaneuf du Pape. However, there is more to this expansive region, including whites from the hill of Hermitage, white Cotes du Rhone and sparkling wines from Clairette.
Part Two:
Provence & Languedoc-Roussillon. Provence, widely known for it's pale rose wines perfect for the summer. As we head west we will make stops inLanguedoc-Roussillon, and find what is probably the most exciting region in French wine making. Home to innovation, organics and with less rules a myraid of grapes.
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet and use of professional tastings glasses.
