Course Description
Take a trip to sunnier climes with us as we explore the Southern Hemisphere with a glass or two in our hands.
Starting in South America, we'll uncover the highest altitude vineyards in the world, find out why Chile might just have the perfect climate for growing grapes in the world and taste a surprisingly light wine from Brazil.
In week 2 we'll head to South Africa. Since the 1990s the wines from the Cape have really put their name on the world wide map of winemaking. Of course we'll taste a delicious Chenin Blanc, alongisde the local speciality of Pinotage. There is more to this country than these famous exports, including Carrie's new obsession; Roussanne.
Week 3 we'll be off down under to the land of Shiraz, Neighbours and BBQs. Don't be fooled though, we'll leave the sterotypes there and look towards the fresh Rieslings of South Australia, the creamy whites of Margaret River and the minty Cabernets of Coonawara.
Last, but not least, in week 4 we'll finish the tour in New Zealand. Has the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc bubble burst? What's next? Come along to find out.
