
Event Description
On this tasting we'll match up some of the classic Christmas flavours with some delicious wines from around the globe. We'll see how the complex flavours can complement each other, bringing out the flavours of both. Food and Wine matching is a true gastronomic delight, and we're going to talk through some general principals to give you some really good tips to take away and practice at home.
We'll try 7 different food and wine combinations, these will be announced a little closer to the event but include some of the following:
- Smoked Salmon with Champagne
- Haggis Bon Bons with Rioja
- Turkey with White Burgundy
- Pigs in Blankets with Pinot Noir
- Game Pate with Beaujolais
- Stuffing with Cotes du Rhone
- Stilton with LBV Port
- Mince Pies with Sparkling Shiraz
- Yule log with Banyuls
- Trifle with Sauternes
- Christmas Cake with PX Sherry

Our tastings include: a minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, and use of professional tastings glasses.
