Event Description
Bordeaux is naturally split into two by the River Gironde – we’ll explore both sides, explain the styles of wine to expect, talk about that French word “terroir” and why some vintages are amazing and others not so fabulous.
You may know the principal grape varieties in Bordeaux are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but have you tasted wines with Cabernet Franc or Petit Verdot in them?
We'll also be trying some white wines made using Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
The we're heading to the Loire Valley, where French Royalty would holiday and not just for the boat trips on the river.....the wines are pretty good too. Home to Sancerre, Pouilly Fume, Vouvray and so many more.
We'll be tasting at least 6 wines each evening.
