Event Description
While the grape varieites may be familiar (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Shiraz) the wines being produced by anitopdean winemakers today are innovative, exciting and delicious. Across this vast nation, from Hastings River on the east coast to Margaret River on the west, innovative producers are creating their own, unique signature styles of wine.
Hunter Valley is home to a unique take on Semillon, while Clare and Eden Valleys produce stunning Rieslings. In Barossa and Coonawarra, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon respectively have become benchmarks for delicious, full-flavoured red wines. There are ripe yet crisp sparkling wines too, and luscious fortified wines. Something for all tastes!
Similarly in New Zealand, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir wines offer a distinctive alternative to wines from their French homeland. Marlborough Savvy B steals the show but Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from both North and South Islands are gaining awards and admirers.
