Event Description
Do you know your pet-nat from your traditional method? How red, white, rosé and orange wines are made? The meaning of terms like skin contact, low-intervention, biodynamic, organic and natural?
No? Then come and immerse yourself in wine at Renegade! This super-cool East London winery has been making genre-defying wines since 2016, originally in a Bethnal Green railway arch and now on the celebrated Blackhorse Beer Mile.
Over the course of a relaxed, interactive and informative day (11am-4pm) we'll look at the history of wine, how it's made and the world's most important grape varieites. We'll explore the key wine producing countires and regions and talk about - and taste - different wine styles, explaining how decisions made by the winemaker affect the aromas and flavours in the wine. Even better, you'll be able to see first hand the equipment and proceeses involved during a tour of the winery.
We're debunk a few wine-related myths, advise on buying, storing and serving wine, and talk about food and wine pairing before enjoying a delicious two-course lunch (with wine, obvs) from Rengade's brilliant resident chef.
There will be plenty of wines to taste (12 in all) including some stunners from Renegade's own range, across all styles and colours. And if you want more, the bar will be open afterwards for you to continue your education!
Includes:
- 12 wines, including sparkling, from London and around the world
- 2-course lunch
- Winery tour
- Loads of wine chat and the chance to ask whatever you like about the fascinating world of wine!
