Event Description
Greece brings us diverse styles from crisp whites like mineral Assyrtiko and aromatic Moschofilero, to full-bodied reds Agiorgitiko and structured Xinomavro. We'll explore the wine regions of the mainland as well as the Greek islands.
Spain's Balearic Islands have some interesting local varieties not seen anywhere else. Mallorca has reds made from Manto Negro and Callet grapes, Tenerife has Listan Negro and Listan Blanco, and Lanzarote's stunning volcanic landscape produces Malvasia both as a crisp white and a sweet wine.
Moving to Italy, Sardinia produces reds from Grenache, called Cannonau locally, but is best known for whites made from Vermentino. Last but certainly not least, we'll explore the island of Sicily with whites made from the Catarratto and Moscato grapes, and reds from Nero d'Avola. Vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna produce lovely whites from Carricante and reds from Nerello Mascalese.
The only challenge will be choosing which wines to taste!
