La Vuelta a España - The Tour of Spain

We will taste the classics but will also venture deep into unfamiliar territory to get your taste-buds going! See what makes Spain one of the most exciting wine destinations in the world.
The Wines of Spain
Britain may have a long love affair with Rioja and Sherry, but Spain has so much more to offer the wine-lover. Tradition and innovation live side by side in this fascinating wine country. The Tour starts in Green Spain with a taste of the Northwest coast in Galicia and Basque Country. We then journey down to Castilla y Leon where the wine regions of Rueda, Bierzo and Ribera del Duero are to be found.
Continuing our tour on week 2 we head to the classic Rioja, its neighbour Navarra for some old favourites and over to Aragon for some more rustic reds. On week 3 we cover the glorious east Mediterranean coast. The wonderful wines of the quality-driven Cataluña, home of Priorat, Montsant and Cava. We head south into Valencia and Murcia before a sorjourn inland to La Mancha.
The final week sees our tour head beyond the peninsular over to the Balierics and Canary Islands, before settling in to the Andalucia where we will learn about the amazing world of Sherry - so much more than a Christmas tipple at your Grandparents house!
