Event Description
Join us for our first ever focus on the wines of Chianti Classico, made possible thanks to the generosity of the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico. We’re still finalising the line-up, but it will include eight wines chosen to highlight the region’s diverse expressions—from youthful, vibrant bottles to complex Riservas and Gran Selezione masterpieces.
Our director Simon Woods has visited the region three times, and under his guidance, you’ll discover:
- The history and heritage of Chianti Classico
- The significance of the Black Rooster (Gallo Nero) emblem
- The terroir influences, winemaking traditions, and stylistic differences across the region, including the emergence of UGAs
- The personality and importance of the Sangiovese grape (which makes up 80-100% of all Chianti Classico)
- The other grapes of the region – some of them local talent, some of them from neighbouring France
And as this is a wine that needs food to show at its best, there’ll be a selection of cheeses and meats as accompaniment.
Perfect for wine enthusiasts looking to deepen their knowledge and fans of Italian wine and culture – and a great gift experience for any wine lover!
