In 1976 Stephen Spurrier put together the famous blind tasting competition to allow the best palates of the wine world to pit top French wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy against the new upstarts from California. Californian wines took the top spots for white and red and the world woke up to the wines the California had to offer. The rest is history.....
At this evening wine tasting we'll take a look at some of the best wineries of the West Coast from the the earthy, savoury Pinot Noirs of Oregon to the rich Cabernets, Merlots and Chardonnays of California's North Coast and Central Coast regions.
You'll be introduced to some history and informaiton about grapes, wine styles and producers as we taste our way around the west coast with 6 well chosen wines.
The tasting includes a digital presentation, six wines, cheese and crackers, tasting notes and hand out sheet.
