Event Description
The Chianti Classico wine region dates back over three centuries to 1716, making it one of the world's oldest protected wine regions. Chianti Classico's red wines are elegant, age worthy expressions of the renowned Sangiovese grape. This special wine tasting evening, in collaboration with the Chianti Chianti Consorzio (the official body representing the wine region), will bring you up to date with everything that is happening in this exciting wine region.
The Chianti Classico Consorzio was the first in Italy founded in 1924. Today it represents 480 producers, of which 342 market wines under their own label, further distinguished by the unmistakable Black Rooster trademark. The role of the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico is to protect and promote the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero brand.
You will experience six wines chosen by the Consorzio and hear all about the styles, themes, stories and producers of this wonderful wine region between Florence and Siena.
The wines will be paired alongside Italian cheeses.
The tasting includes a professionally led tutored tasting with a slide presentation and hand out tasting notes.
