Event Description
It’s hard to move now without coming into contact with natural wine. The idea of wine produced with the minimum of human intervention is a very appealing one, so it’s no surprise that “Natty” has captured the hearts of wine drinkers young and old. This is wine without make-up, unsullied, untamed, un-Photoshopped…
It’s over two years since our last natural wine tasting. Since then, not only has the range of wines made with a natural philosophy grown dramatically, but the number of bars, restaurants and wine shops in and around Manchester specialising in them has also expanded hugely. So why not join us as we spend two evenings tasting our way through a selection of natural wines from around the globe?
On January 21st, we’ll look at wines from France and Italy, the two countries that began the natural wine movement, and which still set the pace for the category.
We’ll talk about what gave rise to the natural movement, the pros and cons of making wines in such a fashion, and how the naturalistas have affected more mainstream producers. For each tasting, we’ll try at least seven wines, and there’ll be some cheese and crackers to provide some solid matter alongside the liquid entertainment.
We are running two nights dedicated to Natural Wine, with the second on the 28th January looking at wines from further afield.
