Event Description
Prosecco has been one of the greatest success stories of the past decade. Light, fresh, off-dry, easy to drink and at a pocket-friendly price, it’s no wonder it sells in such huge quantities in supermarkets and wine bars.
But get beyond the cheap’n’cheerful and you discover that there’s another side to this famous fizz. Welcome to the world of Prosecco Superiore, Prosecco from the original heartland of the region, produced in some of Italy’s most beautiful vineyards, and offering far more personality than the bargain basement bottles.
We’ve managed to get hold of a selection of these more complex styles, including some from different Rive – single vineyard – cuvées and an example from the tiny Cartizze vineyard, which represents the top of the Prosecco quality ladder. Of the eight wines we’ll be trying, most are in a drier style than the norm, so prepare to have your eyes opened to a different side of Prosecco. A more serious side? Perhaps – but certainly not TOO serious…
We’ll be trying eight different wines, and we only have one bottle of each. This means that places are limited to just 14 people. So book now, and prepare to have your eyes opened to just what Prosecco can do!
