We’re thrilled to announce that the Local Wine School Network of which we are a proud part was chosen as the 2025 Communicator of the Year at one of the world’s most prestigious competitions, the International Wine Challenge.
The award reflects the dedication of the various and varied wine school owners around the country, and their passion for passing on their wine knowledge in an accessible and inspiring fashion.
It's a competition that's close to my heart - my first job in the UK wine trade was as a lackey lugging cases, pulling corks and emptying spittoons, and I went on to run it for four years in the 1990s. Since then, I've been a panel chair for the judging, and I spend several days each year at The Oval spitting hundreds of wines out into a bucket.
